Ancient Rome & Archaeology
Colosseum, Roman Forum & Palatine Hill
Duration
Approximately 3 hours
Price
€390 / private group (guide only)

About This Experience
Step Into Imperial Rome
Begin among the immense arches of the Colosseum, where Rome's emperors staged spectacles on a scale the ancient world had never seen. Far more than an iconic photograph, the amphitheater opens a conversation about gladiators, engineering, politics and the people whose labor made this extraordinary monument possible. Your private guide will distinguish the Hollywood myths from the evidence historians and archaeologists can actually recover.
Explore the Forum and Palatine Hill
Continue into the heart of ancient civic life. In the Roman Forum, triumphal processions once passed temples, law courts and political meeting places. We connect the surviving columns and arches to the decisions, religious rituals and personalities that shaped the Republic and the Empire. On the Palatine Hill, the story moves from the legendary foundation of Rome to the imperial residences that gave us the word 'palace'. Viewpoints help put the entire archaeological landscape into perspective.
A Visit Built Around Your Interests
The route is tailored to your group: families may enjoy vivid stories about daily life and the games, while dedicated history lovers can explore architecture, imperial propaganda and archaeological discoveries in greater depth. We plan the order of sites around your ticket time, current entrances and walking needs, rather than promising a single fixed path. The standard tour includes the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. Arena Floor or Attic access can be added only if the relevant special tickets are available and requires a separately quoted supplement.
Tour Price & Admission Tickets
The standard private guided tour of the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill costs €390 per private group for the guide only. Admission tickets are separate: €40 per adult and €15 per visitor under 18, subject to availability. Optional access to the Arena Floor or Attic carries an additional supplement and can be arranged only when the relevant tickets are available. We will confirm the options and the full price before booking.
Before You Go
Allow roughly three hours and expect uneven stone surfaces, stairs and exposed stretches with limited shade. Entry tickets are separate from the private guiding fee. Names and identity documents may be checked against tickets, and the official archaeological park controls release windows, site access and security procedures. We will explain the best ticket strategy before you confirm your booking.
